If

 JOHN 13:35
"By this shall all men know that ye are my
disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Love, a tender word filled with meaning
yet so often abused; flung carelessly about
and rendered meaningless in today's world.
Love, a word that can be easily spoken, but
manifested through actions.

I JOHN 3:17 says:
" but whoso hath this world's goods and
seeth his brother have need  and shutteth
his bowels of compassion from him, how
dwelleth the love of God in him?"

Loving my brothers and sisters is not an
option, it is a commandment. Jesus
Christ  loves me with unconditional love
full of  mercy  and compassion, therefore
I must  demonstrate  this same love to
others. If I love as Jesus loves, I will rejoice
with one that is joyful. I will be glad from
the heart about the good that God is doing
in his/her life.

In contrast, I will hurt in empathy with one
that is hurting. I will strive to give comfort
and encouragement to one going through
troubles and trials. If  I love as Jesus loves
I will be kind and gentle to others. I will not
be judgmental or harshly critical. I will try to
build up  and edify others instead of tearing
them down.

If I love as Jesus loves, I will speak the
truth in love. The truth is what will set them
free, not some feel-good fuzzies! I will care
about others, even when they do not care
about me (especially when  they do not
care about me!) I will try to meet my
brother/sister's need in a tangible way.

If  I love as Jesus loves, I will be a
friend, ready to share, ready to lend a
helping hand, ready to listen, ready to,
just be there!
