Power Surge

The Gospel (Good News) of Jesus is not complex. It is unaffected,
unadorned, clear, and understandable. Because God is not willing that any
should perish. (2 Peter 3:9) He made salvation attainable to anyone---
not just for the highly educated, but also for the unlearned. Being
wealthy does not guarantee salvation; neither does being poor.
God does not judge from the world's point of view---He judges the heart.
And His Son died for everyone.
The Gospel is simple, but it is also full of power. Romans 1:16 says:
" For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for
salvation to everyone who believes..." It is the power (energy, strength,
force, authority) of God Himself!
It has no boundaries! It liberates, transforms, reconciles, redeems! It
is the power of God for salvation. All hell wants the sinner kept in
bondage, and Satan will do what he can do what he can to prevent him
from hearing (and believing) the truth. But the moment a sinner
decides to accept Jesus as Savior, the power of God comes in a "surge"---
a great rolling wave---to lift him out of Satan's kingdom of darkness
and delusion and adopt him into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9) The
sinner's destiny is changed! He is no longer bound by Satan's chains of sin!
" Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!
(John 8:36)
We cannot experience this "power surge" of God on our own merits. Nor can we
hope to bring about lasting changes for good by human effort. Titus 3:5
says: " Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according
to His mercy He saved us..." The only way to undergo this tremendous
transformation is through the blood of Jesus. We must accept Him into
our hearts and let Him make the changes needed in our lives.
Finally, let's remember that at the foot of the cross it is level---there
is no respect of persons. Salvation is free, a gift of God, and does not
depend on who or what we are. It is by the mercy, grace, and power of
God, and it is sufficient (adequate) to meet your need of salvation
right now, right where you are.
