A Priceless Pearl

She's a beautiful lady. Your eyes see it
upon meeting her, but it is your soul that
feels its depth. She is a lady of grace and
of elegance that comes not from fine clothing
or fancy adornments, but from within.
It is there in the gentleness of her spirit you
feel in her presence, and in the quietness and
fewness of her words, and within the wisdom
she speaks. It is there in her shy smile. It is
there in the things she talks about and doesn't
talk about, the things she's interested in, and
those she considers unimportant. It is there in
the things she has not sought or had need of,
and in the things she treasures above all else.
It is there in the deep love you can see on her
face for her husband and her children, and
hear in her voice when she speaks their
name. It is there in the contentment and joy she
has found in being a wife and mother, and a Christian.
It is there in the way she has lived her life and
continues to live her life, and in the things she
has invested her life in. It is there in hands that
have turned the pages of a Bible many, many
of a time. Hands that have held two little boys hands
as she took them to church faithfully on
Wednesdays, and Sundays, and any other time
church was being held. Hands that have
undoubtedly wiped away many a tear and
given much love and comfort. Hands that
faithfully ironed many a white shirt for
her husband on one of his preaching Sundays.
Hands that pray often, Hands that play "Amazing Grace"
and "Standing On the Promises Of God" so
beautifully the angels must be singing along. It
is there in her caring for others, and in the kindness
she shows.
It is there in her honesty, her faithfulness,
her loyalty, her fairness, her understanding,
her love for the truth. She is a beautiful lady,
inside and out. No you will probably never
read about her in the newspaper. You probably
won't ever see her on TV or read about her in a
fancy magazine. If you heard her name it would
probably mean nothing special to you.
She's not listed among the top influential women of
today, and she hasn't won any prestigious awards.
She is not the kind of woman that young women
today want to model themselves after, or the
world admires. She is what some would call a
nobody important. Just a housewife. Just a wife.
Just a mother. Just a Christian. Doesn't sound
 impressive?
Oh, but it is! You see she is the kind of
woman that God said is to be esteemed above all
others. She is far more precious than rubies.
Her value is priceless. Her beauty eternal. Of all the
women in the world she is the woman that God
has crowned with his eternal seal of approval.
The woman that Christ instructs others to imitate,
to seek, to honor, and to cherish. And she is the kind
of woman I hope to become. When my hair is gray,
and my steps are slow, and age lines my face,
I pray that when others look at me, they will see in me,
the same kind of beauty I see in her,

It is the beauty of Jesus....

Proverbs 31 Woman
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far
 above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that
he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household,
and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she
planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not
out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth
 her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are
clothed with scarlet.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the
elders of the land.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in
time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is
 the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not
 the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also,
and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord,
she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise
 her in the gates.
